Privacy Policy

  • Personal information relating to members and participants on Outdoor Training New Zealand Incorporated ("OTNZ") activities (the "Information") is collected and stored for the primary purpose of membership requirements, volunteer management and activity management.

  • As a training and education provider OTNZ may engage third-party organisations or individuals ("Authorised Parties") to assist OTNZ in completing processes surrounding training or education programmes ("Authorised Purposes").

  • Members and participants give OTNZ permission to provide Information to Authorised Parties for Authorised Purposes. Members and participants also give OTNZ permission to provide information to NZQA, Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) or other training provider organisations if required by such training providers.

  • OTNZ will use its best endeavours to ensure that Information released by OTNZ to Authorised Parties, NZQA or TEC or any other third parties is not used for commercial gain and is stored securely. OTNZ will ensure that only OTNZ staff and volunteers authorised by the OTNZ Board Chairperson shall have access to the Information and that the Information will only be used for OTNZ's purposes.

  • You can at any time, upon written request, access your personal information obtained by OTNZ. OTNZ will only decline such requests where it would be unlawful for OTNZ to provide such information. If OTNZ denies you access to the Information held, you will be notified in writing of this refusal and the reasons for it.

  • OTNZ endeavours to ensure that with the assistance of its members the information held is accurate, up-to-date and complete. If you believe that your personal information as held by OTNZ is not correct, up-to-date or accurate, you can advise OTNZ and every effort will be made to correct the information.

  • OTNZ understands that members and activity participants may have concerns about their privacy. There may be reasons why a member or activity participant may not want to be identified publically. OTNZ needs to be made aware of this wish by the member and OTNZ will use its best endeavours to ensure that such persons are not identified publically.
